About Us

Our story

Our mission at CKids is to create a safe and positive environment where children can explore the beauty and wonder of Judaism. We welcome both children and parents into a community that fosters meaningful and authentic Jewish experiences. Together, we build a supportive family atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to learn, discover, and embrace their Jewish identities and futures.

To ensure an engaging and memorable experience, we offer a range of exciting, fun, and hands-on activities for kids. Through our programming and events, CKids provides a space where both children and parents can develop their sense of self, community, and friendships. We celebrate each child’s unique qualities and believe that curiosity is essential, encouraging every question. This approach ensures a strong future of Jewish continuity where each child takes great pride in their heritage.

Our Mission

CKids Philly is part of the global Chabad movement, whose mission is to ensure that every Jew, no matter their background, level of knowledge, or affiliation, feels welcomed, valued, and connected to their heritage. Through the CKids network, children experience Judaism in a way that is joyful, hands-on, and meaningful, building pride and a lifelong connection to Jewish life. CKids focuses on creating engaging programs where kids can learn, grow, and feel part of a vibrant Jewish community. CKids Philly, a project of B’nai Abraham Chabad and Center City Jewish Preschool, brings this vision to life locally by offering a warm, inclusive environment where every child belongs.

Meet the Directors

Rabbi Levi and Moussia Shaw serve as the directors of Ckids Afterschool and are committed to ensure that every single child who attends the afterschool has a positive, safe, and joyful experience. The Shaws are driven by the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s teachings and genuine love for every Jew combined with a vision to reveal the innate goodness in all of humanity.

As long as Moussia can remember, Jewish schools and camps have been her happy place – from a young student all the way to a teacher in Center City Jewish Preschool and now as the Director of CKids Afterschool.

Rabbi Levi spent many summers serving as a counselor, head counselor, and director in Jewish day camps throughout the United States and Israel. Most recently, he taught Judaic studies in Brooklyn and served as the special education coordinator for a large Jewish day school. He is known for his infectious, positive energy and looks forward to bringing that energy and passion into the Afterschool program where all students and staff members are given the space, opportunities, and tools they need to thrive.
